5.Battery Replacement

CAUTION:

Read and follow safety instructions before removing batteries. This must be done by qualified personnel due to risk of high energy.

¾Switch off the UPS and disconnect it from utility power and critical loads

¾Remove watches, rings or other metal objects

¾Use tools with insulated handles

Take out screw

Take off front panel

Pull out battery

Disconnect battery wires

Note:

NOVA 1100 AVR battery replacement is very similar to NOVA 600 AVR except the 1100 VA has two (2) batteries. Total battery voltage is 12V for NOVA 600 AVR and 24V for NOVA 1100 AVR.

Disposal of the old battery

Never throw the battery in a fire (risk of explosion)

Do not attempt to open the battery (the electrolyte can harm the skin and eyes)

Store the battery in a dry location

The battery contains lead, a substance that can harm the environment if the battery is not disposed of correctly

The battery must be recycled by a certified organization, in compliance with applicable regulations

Drop the battery off at authorized collection points or contact MGE UPS SYSTEMS to have the battery collected and recycled
