HOOK-UP AND OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS

NOTE

The HTUPS500 must be plugged into a properly grounded, three-prong AC power outlet. In addition, Monster recommends charging the batteries for at least twenty-four hours prior to using HTUPS500. To charge or recharge the batteries, simply plug your HTUPS500 into an AC outlet and switch it on.

STEP 1 Powering Your HTUPS 500 and Connected Equipment

A)Plug your A/V equipment you would like to protect from power loss into the surge-protected, battery backup-supplied outlets. Ensure that your HTUPS is plugged into an appropriate grounded AC outlet. For the best possible home theatre performance, plug HTUPS into a Monster Power Automatic Voltage Stabilizer.

B)Turn on your HTUPS by pressing the Power On button for 1 second. Upon turn-on, it will perform a self-test function. After the test is completed, the Line Power On and CleanPower LEDs will illuminate steadily, confirming that there is adequate power to the connected loads. Always keep the HTUPS plugged into a live outlet or to your Monster Power AVS unit to keep the battery charged.

C)Switch the On/Off controls of all connected system equipment to the On position.

D)In the event of a utility power failure, you can still operate your HTUPS, even if the unit was turned off during

the power failure. To activate Monster’s emergency KickStartcircuitry, press down and hold the On button continuously for 5 seconds. The Line OK LED will illuminate when KickStartis functional. Under back-up operation, the HTUPS will beep slowly. You can turn off the beeping by pressing the Mute button once.

STEP 2 Turning Off Your HTUPS500 and Connected Equipment

A)Switch all equipment On/Off controls to the Off position and unplug them from the HTUPS.

B)Press the Power on button for 3 seconds to turn off the HTUPS. This feature prevents accidental turn off.

C)Unplug it from your Monster Power AVS unit or the wall outlet to ensure its Off condition.
