SpiritHandsGT radiosFreehave builtUse-in Voice Operated Transmission (VOX) capability. This means the sound of your voice activates transmission when the radio is used with a VOX accessory (sold separately).

Lower volume￿with Volume knob before placing accessory on head or in ear.

Enabling1. With the VOX:radio off, plug accessory’s connec- tor into jack on left side of the radio. Figure 21.

2.Turn radio on.

4.To transmit, speak into accessory micro-

phone, you will hear your voice in the ear-

piece, confirming you are transmitting. To receive, stop talking. Figure 21.

Note: There’ll be a brief delay between when you start/stop talking and transmission time. You’ll hear transmissions through the audio accessory’s earpiece (sold separately). Pressing Push-To-Talk button disables VOX.

ResettingtoPush1. Press Push-To-Talk-Tobutton-TalkMode:once. VOX display will disappear.

2. To transmit, press Push-To-Talk. To receive, release Push-To-Talk.

Notes:

To return to VOX mode, turn radio off, then back on. Vox will appear in display.

Accessory Jack Cover is not detachable and should be closed when not use.
