Selecting a Text Entry Method

Multiple text entry methods make it easy for you to enter

names, numbers, and messages. The method you select

remains active until you select another method.

Press

EntryMethod

in a text entry screen to select one of

the following text entry methods:

Using Tap Method

This is the standard method for entering text on your

phone. Tap method cycles through the letters and number

of the key you press.

From any text entry screen, press

EntryMethod

TAP

iTAP

iTAP® software predicts each

word as you enter it, to speed up

text entry.

TapMethod

Enter individual letters, numbers,

and symbols by pressing a key

one or more times.

Numeric

Enter numbers only.

Symbol

Enter symbols only.

Press To

a keypad key

one or more

times

enter a letter, number, or

symbol shown in the

“Character Chart” on

page 21.
