Maintenance & Adjustments

warning! Before inspecting, cleaning or servicing the tiller, shut off the engine and wait for all moving parts to come to a complete stop. Disconnect the spark plug. Failure to follwo these instructions properly can result in serious personal injury or property damage.

Maintenance

Engine

Refer to the Engine Operator’s Manual packaged with your machine for all engine maintenance.

Tines

Clean the underside of the tine shield after each use. The dirt washes off the tines easier if rinsed off immediately instead of after it dries. Always towel dry the tiller afterwards and apply a light coat of oil or silicone to prevent rusting or water damage.

NOTE: Never use a pressure washer to clean the tiller. Water can penetrate tight areas of the tiller and cause serious damamge.

Air Filter

Service the air filter every 10 hours under normal operating conditions. Clean every hour under extremely dusty conditions. Poor engine performance and flooding usually indicates that the air filter should be serviced. To service the air filter refer to the seperate Engine Operator’s Manual.

Lubrication

Transmission

The transmission is pre-lubricated and sealed at the factory. It requires no maintenance. See an authorized service dealer for any service issues.

Tine Shafts

Remove tine assemblies and lubricate the tine shafts at least once a season.

Wheel Shaft

Remove wheel assembly and lubricate the axle shaft at least once a season.
