V-Belt Check
CAUTION
NEVER attempt to check theV-belt with the engine running. Severe injury can occur of your hand (Figure 8) gets caught between theV-belt and the clutch.Always use safety gloves.

1.Tocheck theV-belttension,removethe boltsthatsecurethe belt cover to the frame as shown in Figure 9.

2.The V-belt tension is proper if the V-belt bends 10 to 15 mm (Figure 10) when depressed with finger at midway between the clutch and vibration pulley shafts.

3.A loose V-belt will decrease the power transmission output, causing reduced compaction and premature wear of the belt.
4.If the V-belt becomes worn or loose, replace it .
