débranchez le cordon d’alimentation c.a., retirez la pince reliée au châssis, puis retirez la pince de la borne de batterie.

7.8Si la borne positive de la batterie est mise à la masse, branchez d’abord la pince NÉGATIVE (NOIRE) du chargeur à la borne NÉGATIVE (NÉG., N., –)de la batterie (celle qui n’est pas mise à la masse). Branchez ensuite la borne POSITIVE (ROUGE) sur le châssis du véhicule ou sur le bloc moteur, loin de la batterie. Ne branchez pas la pince sur le carburateur, les conduites de carburant ou les pièces de tôle de la carrosserie. Branchez- la plutôt sur une pièce métallique épaisse ou sur le bloc moteur.

Pour débrancher le chargeur, mettez l’interrupteur à la position d’arrêt (O), débranchez le cordon d’alimentation c.a., retirez la pince reliée au châssis, puis retirez la pince de la borne de batterie.

MISE EN GARDE : SI LA BORNE POSITIVE (+) DE LA BATTERIE EST MISE À LA MASSE, VÉRIFIEZ LA POLARITÉ.

8.CHARGE DE LA BATTERIE HORS DU VÉHICULE OU DE L’APPAREIL

— NON RELIÉE AU MOTEUR

Lorsque vous sortez la batterie du véhicule ou de l’appareil, débranchez toujours le câble de masse en premier.

MISE EN GARDE : AFIN DE PRÉVENIR LES ARCS ÉLECTRIQUES, ASSUREZ-VOUS QUE TOUTES LES CHARGES ÉLECTRIQUES DU VÉHICULE SONT DÉSACTIVÉES.

QUAND LA BATTERIE EST À L’EXTÉRIEUR DU VÉHICULE, PROCÉDEZ COMME SUIT POUR RÉDUIRE LES RISQUES. UNE ÉTINCELLE PRÈS DE LA BATTERIE POURRAIT PROVOQUER UNE EXPLOSION.

8.1Vérifiez la polarité des bornes de batterie. En général, le diamètre de la borne POSITIVE (POS., P., +) est plus grand que celui de la borne NÉGATIVE (NÉG., N., –).

8.2Branchez un câble de batterie isolé de calibre 6 d’une longueur d’au moins 60 cm (24 po) à la borne NÉGATIVE (NÉG., N., –)de la batterie.

8.3Branchez la pince POSITIVE (ROUGE) du chargeur sur la borne POSITIVE (POS., P., +) de la batterie.

8.4Tenez-vous aussi loin que possible de la batterie. Gardez l’extrémité libre du câble loin de la batterie — ne restez pas devant la batterie au moment de faire la dernière connexion — puis branchez la pince NÉGATIVE (NOIRE) à l’extrémité libre du câble.

8.5Pour débrancher le chargeur, suivez toutes les étapes de la procédure de connexion en sens inverse. Tenez-vous aussi loin que possible de la batterie au moment de défaire la première connexion.
