PENINSULA INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

VENTING

Refer to pages 6-13. All venting must have a minimum clear- ance of 2" to combustible material on the top and 1" to the

sides and bottom.

FRAMING

See Page 18 for additional framing dimensions. NOTE: In order to avoid the possibility of exposed insula- tion or vapor barrier coming in contact with the

replace body, it is recommended that the walls of the

replace enclosure be “fi nished” (ie: drywall/sheetrock), as you would fi nish any other outside wall of a home. This will ensure that clearance to combustibles is maintained within the cavity.

It is best to frame your fireplace after it is positioned and the vent system is installed. Use 2x4's and frame to local build- ing codes.

COUNTER TOP / BAR INSTALLATION

When fi nishing the fi replace, combustible material may rest directly on of the top extension.

NOTE: Maximum weight tolerance is 400 lbs, provided that it is evenly distributed across the top extensions of the fireplace.

In order to achieve a counter top or bar type appearance with the minimum height allowed, framing must be non-combusti- ble and may be done with metal studding attached to the top extension sides or the upper frame of the fi replace.

FIGURE 16

A = 22 " minus fi nishing material thickness each side.

To install the fi replace face fl ush with the fi nished wall, posi- tion the framework to accommodate the thickness of the fi nished wall.

FIGURE 15

Care should be taken to maintain suffi cient clearance for the vent installation. A horizontal vent installation requires a minimum height of 45" using fl exible vent pipe, to the underside of the enclosure top including the 2" clearance to combustibles.

*The top extension may be removed if non-combustible fram- ing is faced with a non-combustible material placed flush with the front face of the unit and extending from the top of the unit. (Example: cement board) (not supplied). Combustible counter / bar tops must maintain a minimum of 38" from the base of the fi replace to the underside of the top.

FIGURE 17

NOTE: Wolf Steel trim and/or surround kits will not totally cover the top extension of the fireplace. In order to obtain a smooth transition from the trim / surround to the wall, it is recommended that the top extension be removed and the unit be installed following the above procedure.
