Kk Kilo. The standard metric prefix for 1,000, or 103, used with units of
measure such as volts, hertz, and meters.
K Kilo. The prefix for 1,024, or 210, used with B in quantifying data or
computer memory.
kbytes/s A unit for data transfer that means 1,000 or 103 bytes/s.
Kword 1,024 words of memory.
Lline count The total number of horizontal lines in the picture.
LSB Least significant bit.
LUT Look-up table. Table containing values used to transform the gray-level
values of an image. For each gray-level value in the image, the
corresponding new value is obtained from the look-up table.
LVDS Low Voltage Differential Signaling (EIA-644).
Mm Meters.
M (1) Mega, the standard metric prefix for 1 million or 106, when used with
units of measure such as volts and hertz; (2) mega, the prefix for 1,048,576,
or 220, when used with B to quantify data or computer memory.
MB Megabyte of memory.
Mbytes/s A unit for data transfer that means 1 million or 106 bytes/s.
memory buffer See buffer.
memory window Continuous blocks of memory that can be accessed quickly by changing
addresses on the local processor.
