Installation from a Floppy Diskette

Installation from a Floppy Diskette
If your PC is not equipped with a CD-ROM drive, you can use
another computer’s CD-ROM drive to copy the printer driver to a
floppy diskette using the following procedure.
1. Insert the CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive of the other com-
puter, and insert the floppy diskette into the floppy disk drive.
2. Open the folder titled “floppy” on the CD-ROM.
3. Inside the folder you will find folders for the following operating
systems:
Windows 95 (win95) Windows 3.1 (win31)
MS-DOS (msdos) Windows NT4.0 (nt40)
Windows NT 3.51 (nt351)
4. Save all of the files from the folder for your operating system
onto a floppy diskette.
5. Remove the floppy diskette from the floppy disk drive and insert
it into the PC that is not equipped with a CD-ROM drive.
6. Create a folder for the printer driver on the hard disk of the PC.
Copy the files that were saved onto the floppy diskette in step
four to the new folder.
7. After saving the files, find the one that is titled XXXXX.exe (the
full name of the file depends upon your operating system). Open
this file.
This file contains compressed data. The procedure for opening
such a file varies according to the operating system of your com-
puter. Consult the user's manual of your operating system for
more information regarding compressed files.
8. Through the file that was opened in step 7, install the printer
driver by following the instructions provided in this user's
manual.
