Motion Detection

Press the dbutton Mztab (A13) MMotion detection

Enable motion detection to reduce the effects of subject movement and camera shake when shooting still images.

Option

Description

 

 

Motion detection is enabled with some shooting modes or settings, when ris displayed on the shooting screen.

UAutoWhen the camera detects subject movement or camera shake, rturns green, and the ISO sensitivity and shutter speed are automatically increased to reduce blurring.

Off

Motion detection is disabled.

(default setting)

B Notes About Motion Detection

Motion detection may be unable to eliminate the effects of subject movement and camera shake in some situations.

Motion detection may be disabled if the subject exhibits significant movement or is too dark.

The images captured using motion detection may be somewhat “grainy” in appearance.

AF Assist

Press the dbutton Mztab (A13) MAF assist

Enable or disable the AF-assist illuminator which assists autofocus operation.

Option

Description

 

The AF-assist illuminator automatically lights up when

 

the subject is dimly lit. The illuminator has a range of

Auto

about 3.0 m (9 ft 10 in.) at the maximum wide-angle

position and about 3.5 m (11 ft) at the maximum

(default setting)

telephoto position.

 

 

Note that for some scene modes or focus areas, the

 

AF-assist illuminator may not light.

 

 

Off

The AF-assist illuminator does not light.
