8. Belichtingsfactor

De f-waarde van een objectief geeft de helderheid van het beeld aan, gevormd door het objectief dat op "oneindig" voor de opnameafstand staat. Hoe hoger de reproductieverhouding, hoe meer de helderheid van het beeld zal afnemen. De werkelijke helderheid van het beeld wordt de "effectieve f-waarde" genoemd en de belichtingscorrectiewaarde voor de verandering van de effectieve f-waarde wordt de "belichtingsfactor" genoemd.

9. Effectieve f-waardevariatie (P. 146)

Hoe hoger de reproductieverhouding met dit objectief is, des te meer zal de helderheid van het beeld op de film (beeldsensor) afnemen en de effectieve f-waarde toenemen (de hoeveelheid licht die door het objectiefdiafragma komt, neemt af). Deze variatie wordt automatisch gecompenseerd door de belichtingsmeter van de camera, zodat de gebruiker de belichting kan bepalen of de TTL-flitsopname bedienen zonder met de belichtingsfactor rekening te houden. De weergegeven f-waarde op het LCD-scherm of de zoeker is de automatisch gecompenseerde waarde.

10. Het diafragma instellen

Stel het diafragma op de camera in. Wanneer de belichtings- (of opname) modus ingesteld is op "A" (diafragmavoorkeuze) of "M"

Nl (handmatig), dan zal de camera zorgen dat de voorafbepaalde f-waarde gelijk blijft (tot ongeveer 1,6 stops), terwijl de effectieve f-waarde verandert met de opnameafstand.
