At default settings, the effects of the flash can be previewed

by pressing the depth-of-field preview button to emit a

5Take the picture.

Compose the photograph, focus, and shoot. If the flash-ready indicator (M) blinks for about three seconds after the photograph is taken, the flash has fired at full output and the photograph may be underexposed. Check the results in the monitor. If the photograph is underexposed, adjust settings and try again.
