f4: Assign FUNC. Button

Choose the role played by the Fn button, either by itself ([FUNC. button press]) or when used in combination with the command dials ([FUNC. button+dials]).

❚❚FUNC. Button Press

Selecting [FUNC. button press] for Custom Setting f4 displays the following options:

	Option		Description
q	Preview	*	Press the Fn button to preview depth of field
			(pg. 103).
			Press the Fn button to lock flash value (built-in flash
r	FV lock *		and SB-900, SB-800, SB-600, SB-400, and SB-R200
			flash units only, pg. 178). Press again to cancel FV
			lock.
B	AE/AF lock		Focus and exposure lock while the Fn button is
			pressed.

CAE lock only Exposure locks while the Fn button is pressed.

	AE lock	Exposure locks when the Fn button is pressed, and
		remains locked until the button is pressed a second
D	(Reset on
		time, the shutter is released, or the exposure
	release) *
		meters turn off.
	AE lock	Exposure locks when the Fn button is pressed, and
E		remains locked until the button is pressed a second
	(Hold) *
		time or the exposure meters turn off.

FAF lock only Focus locks while the Fn button is pressed.

U	s Flash off	The flash will not fire in photos taken while the Fn
		button is pressed.
