Image Quality and Size

Together, image quality and size determine how much space each photograph occupies on the memory card. Larger, higher quality images can be printed at larger sizes but also require more memory, meaning that fewer such images can be stored on the memory card.

Changes to image quality and size are reflected in the number of exposures remaining as shown in the shooting information dis- play and viewfinder ( 5, 6). The approximate maximum file size

of individual photographs and the total number of pictures that can be recorded at the selected setting are also shown in the

shooting information display while image quality or size options are displayed ( 30). Actual file size and memory card capacity may differ. Typical file sizes are listed on page 116.
