Camera Settings: The Setup Menu

Format

Formats the memory card. Note that this perma- nently deletes all photographs and any other data the card may contain. Copy all required files to a computer before formatting.

Formatting Memory Cards

Do not turn the camera off or remove the memo- ry card while formatting is in progress.
