GMetering
Choose how the camera meters exposure.
GMatrix (default setting)
Camera sets exposure for entire frame. Recommended in most situations.
q
Camera meters entire frame but assigns greatest weight to subject in center of frame. Classic meter for portraits; preserves background details while letting lighting
conditions at center of frame determine exposure. Can be used with focus lock (A23) to meter
rSpot
Camera meters area shown by circle in center of frame. Ensures that subject in
metering target is correctly exposed even if background is much lighter or darker. Can be used with focus lock (A23) to meter
sSpot AF area
Camera meters selected focus area (A93). Available only when a setting other than [Center] is selected for [AF area mode].
BNote on Metering
When digital zoom is in effect at magnifications of 1.2× to 1.8×, [Metering] is set to [Center- weighted], and at magnifications of 2.0× to 4.0×, [Metering] is set to [Spot]. When digital zoom is in effect, the metered area is not shown in the monitor.
