3 Frame the picture.

 

The camera can focus at distances as close as 10 cm (4 in.)

 

at the wide-angle zoom position at which Fand the

 

zoom indicator glow green (the zoom indicator is before

 

G). The closest distance at which the camera can focus

 

varies depending upon zoom position.

Tap the subject on which the camera should focus to select the active focus area (A 26).

4 Press the shutter-release button to take the

 

 

picture.

 

Focus is locked when the shutter-release button is

 

pressed halfway, and a picture is taken when the shutter-

 

release button is pressed the rest of the way down.

 

When the camera is unable to focus, the focus area blinks

1/125 F3.1

red. Change the composition and press the shutter-

 

release button halfway again.

 

BNote on Food Mode

Flash mode is disabled. Macro mode setting (A 35) is fixed at ON.

CWhite Balance Setting in Food Mode

Increasing the amount of red or blue will decrease illumination effects.

Changing white balance in food mode will not affect white balance in the shooting menu (A 110).

The white balance setting applied in food mode is stored in the camera’s memory even after the

46camera is turned off, and reapplied the next time food mode is selected.
