APoint and Shoot
When this camera is used for the first time, the shooting mode is set to A Point and shoot. The camera automatically selects the optimum scene when you frame a picture, making it even easier to take pictures using settings that suit the scene.
APoint and shoot is the default shooting mode for this camera.
•When the camera detects the main subject, it focuses on that subject (target finding AF).
•The flash may fire when shooting in low light.
•When shooting in low light, the use of a tripod is recommended.
•The camera does not detect the scene when the digital zoom is being used.
Using Target Finding AF

B Notes About Target Finding AF
•Depending on shooting conditions, the subject that the camera determines to be the main subject may vary.
•The camera may not detect the main subject appropriately in the following situations:
-When the subject is very dark or bright
-When the main subject lacks clearly defined colors
-When the shot is framed so that the main subject is at the edge of the monitor
-When the main subject is composed of a repeating pattern
