1Be sure that the power-on lamp and the monitor are off and open the battery- chamber/memory card slot cover.

•Be sure to turn off the camera before opening the cover.

•Slide the memory card in until it clicks into

place.

B Inserting the Memory Card

Inserting the memory card upside down or backwards could damage the camera and the

memory card. Be sure to check that the memory card is in the correct orientation.

3 Close the battery-chamber/memory card slot cover.

BFormatting Memory Cards

•The first time you insert a memory card that has been used in another device into this camera, be sure to format it with this camera.

•All data stored on a memory card is permanently deleted when the card is formatted. If there is data saved on the memory card that you wish to keep, copy that data to a computer before formatting.

•To format a memory card, insert the card into the camera, press the dbutton, and select Format card in the setup menu (A88).
