Checking signal strength

When you are at the start screen (see page 17) or in a call, the signal strength is indicated by the indicators on the left side of your phone’s display. These indicators scroll as the strength of the signal increases and decreases.

Increasing your phone’s signal may be easy. Try moving your phone slightly, or move towards a window if you’re calling from inside a building.

Using the keypad cover

When .H\SDG#FRYHU#VHWWLQJ is on, you can answer calls simply by opening the keypad cover. When you want to hang up, just close the cover and the call will end.

When the keypad cover setting is off, you must open the keypad cover to answer any calls. Once opened, you can press any key (except the ðand ôkeys) to answer a call.

To end a call, press ôbefore closing the keypad cover.

Activating the keypad cover

1.Press 0HQX 4 2 6

2.Press W or V to 2Q and press 2.

Note: If you’re using a headset and wish to close the keypad cover and still keep the call active, press 2SWLRQV once before

closing the keypad cover.

Making a call

When you want to make a call, open the keypad cover, enter the area code and phone number and press ó

Editing a number on display

Press V to move the cursor to the left and W to move it to the right. Press &OHDU to delete the character to the left

of the cursor.
