Storing a name & number

You can save names and numbers in the Phone book. Either use the method described in “Storing a name and number” on page 51 or the “quick save” method de- scribed below.

Quick save

At the start screen,

1)Enter the phone number and press 6DYH

2)The phone prompts you to enter a 1DPH=. Enter a name if you wish (optional), then press 2.

Also, see “Entering letters and numbers” on page 36.

System

Your phone is capable of working in Residential, Private, and Public Systems (such as your Home System). You can choose how your phone selects a network to use.

This feature is 0HQX 5 in your phone. The default is $XWRPDWLF, which means your phone automatically

searches for networks available to you and chooses the appropriate one. Every time you switch on your phone, it resets this to $XWRPDWLF.

If you choose 0DQXDO, your phone searches for net- works, then begins displaying them. Your phone displays $9$,/$%/(= or 127 $9$,/$%/(= for the systems it finds (You can not use 127 $9$,/$%/(= systems). Use the W key to scroll through the choices, and press 2. when you see the one you want.

If you choose 1HZ 6HDUFK, your phone begins a new search for new Private and Residential systems. When it finds the best new system, it displays it. You can then 6HOHFW it, or start another search by pressing 1H[W.

Note: If you have two phone numbers (two NAMs), the 0DQXDO and 1HZ VHDUFK features are only used with your primary phone

number (NAM 1). See “NAM selection” on page 46 for more in- formation concerning NAMs.
