2 Quickstart
1. Man ually steer the boat to open waters be fore engaging the autopilot to ste er the boat.
2. Se lect the desired steeri ng mode by pressing then use the control dial to highlight Comp ass, GPS or
Wind then press .
3. If u sing GPS mode, start navig ating to a waypoint using the GPS in strument.
4. Eng age the autopilot by pressing the key.

2-2 Using the autopilot to steer the boat automatically

In Compass mode and Wind mode it is possi ble to change course during a voyage :
1. Turn the C ontrol Dial in the direction of the in tended course change, for example :
To change course 10º to starboard, turn the Cont rol Dial 10 clicks clockwise.
To change course 30º to port, turn the C ontrol Dial a whole turn counter-cl ockwise.
It is possible to change the steeri ng mode during a voyage, for example:
Change from GPS mode to Compas s mode at the end of a route, or,
On a sailing boat, change from Win d mode to Compass or GPS modes when c hanging from sailing
to motoring.
1. Pres s then use the Control Dial to highlight the desired s teering mode then press .
1. Pres s . The autopilot is now dise ngaged and you have complete steer ing control.
The key can be pressed at any time.
2. Man ually steer the boat using the boats s teering helm.
3. To re-e ngage the autopilot, press the key.
To regain control of the boat in an emergenc y situation:
1. Pres s the key. The autopilot is now disengaged and you have complete stee ring control.
2. Manu ally steer the boat.
Alternatively:
1. Pres s or to make an immediate cours e change to port or starboard.
2. Af ter a period of time, press to resume original course, or press to co ntinue on the
alternative course.
1. Turn the aut opilot system on by pressing .
2. If t he autopilot is connected to multi, d epth or GPS instruments, t urn these on too.
3. If n ecessary, adjust the backlig ht so that the display can be easily read ( press briefly a nd adjust using
the Control Dial).
