Connecting the power cord

If you are using other ONKYO components equipped

with Connecting theconnector connectors, you can control these com- ponents using the amplifier‘s remote controller.

Before connecting

The amplifier must be connected in the

system hookups for

control operations.

Each component has two Connecting the power cordManual background connectors. There is no difference between those connectors.

The components may be connected in any order.

Remote control operation is not possible if only

the Manual backgroundManual background remote control cable is connected to

the Manual backgroundManual background connectors. Connect the audio connec- tion cables correctly.

The illustration below is the Manual backgroundManual background hookup example. With these hookups, you can operate the CD Syn- chro Recording (see “CD/MD/CDR synchro record- ing” on page 8).

To use the unit with the other Onkyo Sepa- rate Collection series components, follow the connection diagram in the R-801A instruc- tion manual to connect the unit to the sys- tem.

If you press the Manual background (OPEN/CLOSE) button while the unit is in the STANDBY mode, the power will turn on and the display will light up auto- matically.

An Manual background remote control cable equipped with a 1/

8in. (3.5mm) diameter miniature two-conductor

phone plug is included with this unit and with ev- ery tuner and cassette deck that bears the Manual background mark.
