Playing a source

If you wish to adjust the sound volume of the Right or Left front speaker, always use the ED-205's MASTER VOLUME knob with the amplifier's volume control at the Surround setting position as explained on pages 12 and 13. The output levels of the Center and Surround speakers must be readjusted every time you alter the amplifier's volume control setting.

Playing a Dolby Pro Logic surround source

Before playing a Dolby Pro Logic surround source, the unit must be set according to “Before enjoying Surround Play” on pages 12 and 13.

1.Press the POWER button.

The STANDBY indicator goes out and the display lights up.

2.Select the input source.

LINE: Press this button to play the source selected on the amplifier that is connected to the unit’s PROCESSOR jacks. VIDEO 1/2: Press this button to play the video source connected to the unit’s VIDEO-1 or VIDEO-2 jacks.

3.Press the MODE button to select “DOLBY PRO LOGIC” or “DOLBY 3 STEREO”.

The mode changes as shown each time the MODE a or s button is pressed (Only the s button is available with the remote controller.)

4.Play a Dolby Pro Logic encoded source.

5.Adjust the sound volume.

The sound volume for all speakers simultaneously changes. Adjust the sound volume from the listening position using the remote controller.

*The sound volume for the Subwoofer can be adjusted by first pressing the CH SEL button to select “SW” on the display and then using the LEVEL y/u button.

If you wish to fine-adjust the sound volume for a channel while listening to the sound, select that speaker on the display in the same way and then adjust the sound volume.
