Remote Control Codes for Onkyo Components Connected via Resetting the REMOTE MODE ButtonsResetting the Remote Controller

Onkyo components that are connected via Manual background can be controlled by pointing the remote controller at the AV receiver. This means that you can control such compo- nents even if they are out of sight, for example, installed in a rack.

1Make sure the Onkyo component is con-

nected with an Manual background cable and an analog audio cable (RCA).

See page 31 for details.

2Enter the appropriate remote control code for the [DVD] or [CD] REMOTE MODE but- ton.

3Press the [DVD] or [CD] REMOTE MODE button, point the remote controller at the AV receiver, and operate the component.

If you want to control an Onkyo component by pointing the remote controller directly at it, or you want to control

an Onkyo component that’s not connected via Manual background , enter the following remote control codes:

[DVD] REMOTE MODE button

0627: DVD player without Manual background (default) [CD/MD/CDR] REMOTE MODE button

1817: CD player without Manual background (default)

0868: MD recorder without Manual background

1323: CD recorder without Manual background

Note:

If you connect an Manual background -compatible Onkyo MiniDisc or CD recorder to the TAPE IN/OUT jacks, for remote operation to work properly, you must set the display to MD or CDR (see page 33).

Resetting the REMOTE MODE Buttons

If you’ve previously entered a code for a REMOTE MODE button but now want to reset it, perform the fol- lowing procedure.

1While holding down the REMOTE MODE button that you want to

reset, press the [L NIGHT] button for 3 seconds.

The REMOTE MODE button lights up.

2Press the REMOTE MODE button again.

The REMOTE MODE button is reset and flashes twice.

The [DVD] and [CD] REMOTE MODE buttons are preprogrammed with remote control codes for control- ling Onkyo components. When one of these buttons is reset, the prepro- grammed code is restored.

Resetting the Remote Controller

You can reset the remote controller to its default settings.

1While holding down the

[RECEIVER] button, press the [L NIGHT] button for 3 seconds.

The [RECEIVER] button lights up.

2Press the [RECEIVER] button

again.

The remote controller is reset and the [RECEIVER] button flashes twice.
