Dial using the onscreen dial pad

The onscreen dial pad lets you make a call without sliding out the keyboard.
It is also useful when you need to dial numbers that are expressed as letters
and when you need large, brightly lit numbers that you can tap.
1Open Phone .
2Tap the onscreen keys to enter the number.
3Tap t o d i al .

Dial by contact name using universal search

1Open Card view (see Display all open applications (Card view)) or the
Launcher (see Open an application in the Launcher).
2Begin typing the contact first or last name, or initials.
3Tap one of the contact’s phone numbers to dial it. If only the contact
name is displayed, tap the name to display the phone numbers for that
contact, and tap the number.
TIP Tap the onscreen backspace icon (to the right of the number you enter) to
delete numbers you’ve entered one at a time. Tap and hold the icon to delete
all the numbers you’ve entered.
TIP You can paste numbers copied from other applications—for example,
from an email message or a memo—into the dial pad.
