When closing the disk cover

zPress down near the drive power/open switch (position of the arrow) to ensure that
the cover is locked.

If the computer feels warm while in use

zThe computer may become warm as a result of the operation of the CPU and other
internal components. This is not a malfunction.
zUse the following settings to reduce the heat release of these internal components.
• Click [start] - [Control Panel] - [Performance and Maintenance] - [Power Options],
and set [Power schemes] to [Portable/Laptop] or [Max Battery].
• If you are using a screen saver that incorporates 3D graphics, switch to a different
screen saver (e.g., [Windows XP] or [Blank]). To change the screen saver, right-
click on the desktop, click [Properties] - [Screen Saver], and click the name of the
desired screen saver.

When using at high-temperature locations

zDuring repeated use at a high-temperature location, processing may slow tempo-
rarily when the computer enters cooling mode to lower its internal temperature.
zSome of the illustrations in this manual may differ slightly in shape from the actual
