Troubleshooting guide
Before requesting service, please perform
the following steps.
The following do not indicate a p roblem with this unit:
–Regular disc rotating sounds.
– Image disturbanc e during search.

∫Unit doesn’t respond to remote

control or front panel buttons.

Disconnect the power cord, wait 1 minute, then reconnect
the power cord.

∫Cannot eject disc.

The unit may have a problem.
1While the unit is on, press and hold [OK], [B] and [Y] on
the remote control at the same tim e for more than
5seconds.
– “00 rEt” is displa yed on the unit’s dis play.
2Repeatedly press [1](right) on the remote con trol or
[POWER Í/I] on the unit until “06 FtO” is displayed on
the unit’s display.
3Press [OK] on the remo te control or [<OPEN/CLOSE]
on the unit.
To return to the factory preset.

Select “Yes” in “Restore Default Settings” in the Setup
menu. (>25)
To return all settings to the factory preset.

Reset the unit as follows:
1While the unit is on, press and ho ld [OK], [B] and [Y] on
the remote control at the same t ime for more than
5s econds.
– “00 rEt” is display ed on the unit’s disp lay.
2Repeatedly press [1] (right) on the remote control or
[POWER Í/I] on the unit until “08 FIn” is displayed on
the unit’s display.
3Press and hold [OK] on the remote co ntrol or [<OPEN/
CLOSE] on the unit for at least 4 second s.
The remote control doesn’t work properly.

Change the batteries for the rem ote control. (>4)

The remote control and main unit are using different
codes. If “SEt ” is displayed on the unit’s display wh en
a button is pressed on the remote control, change the
code on the remote co ntrol. (>25)
The TV tuner mode is not displayed when
the TV is switched on.
¾
This phenomenon may occur, depending on the TV
setting, when “Quick Start” is set to “On”.
– Depending on the TV, this phe nomenon may be prevent ed
by reconnecting the HDMI cable to a different HDMI input
terminal or by changing the HDMI aut o connection setting.
You have forgotten your ratings password.
You want to cancel the ratings level.

The ratings level returns to the factory preset.
1While the unit is on, press and ho ld [OK], [B] and [Y] on
the remote control at the same t ime for more than
5s econds.
– “00 rEt” is display ed on the unit’s disp lay.
2Repeatedly press [1] (right) on the remote control or
[POWER Í/I] on the unit until “03 VL” is displayed on
the unit’s display.
3Press [OK] on the remote control or [<OPEN/CLOSE]
on the unit.
This unit does not recognize the USB
connection correctly.

If inserted during pl ayback the USB de vice may not be
recognized by this unit.
¾
Disconnect and reconnect the USB cable. If it still does
not recognize the connection, turn the power of this unit
off and on again.
¾
USB devices connected using a USB hub may not be
recognized by this unit.
¾
If you connect USB HDD to this unit, use USB extension
cable that is supplied with the HDD.
Do you have the latest firmware installed?
Firmware updates may be released to correct operating
irregularities that are discovered with certain movies.
