Useful features duringa call

Handset equalizer

This feature clarifies the voice of the
person you are talking to, producing a
more natural-sounding voice that is
easier to hear and understand.
Press MN repeatedly to select Off,
High tone, or Low tone while
talking.
Note:
RWhen this feature is activated, is
displayed while talking.
RDepending on the condition and
quality of your telephone line, this
feature may emphasize existing line
noise. If it becomes difficult to hear,
turn this feature off.
RThis feature is not available while
using the speakerphone.

Hold

This feature allows you to put an outside
call on hold.
Handset
1Press MMENUN during an outside
call.
2MbN: Hold a MSELECTN
3To release hold, press MN.
RAnother handset user can take
the call by pressing MN.
RThe base unit user can take the
call by pressing MSP-PHONEN.
Base unit
1Press MINTERCOMN and then press
MSP-PHONEN during an outside call.
2To release hold, press
MSP-PHONEN.
RA handset user can take the call
by pressing MN.
Note for handset and base unit:
RIf a call is kept on hold for more than 9
minutes, an alarm tone starts to
sound and the ringer indicator on the
handset flashes rapidly. After 1
additional minute on hold, the call is
disconnected.
RIf another phone is connected to the
same line, you can also take the call
by lifting its handset.
RWhile an outside call is on hold, the
SP-PHONE indicator on the base unit
flashes.

Mute

While mute is turned on, you can hear
the other party, but the other party
cannot hear you.
Handset
1Press MMUTEN during conversation.
RMMUTEN flashes.
2To return to the conversation, press
MMUTEN again.
Note:
RMMUTEN is a soft key visible on the
handset display during a call.
Base unit
1Press MMUTEN during conversation.
RThe SP-PHONE indicator flashes.
2To return to the conversation, press
MMUTEN again.

Flash

MFLASHN allows you to use the special
features of your host PBX such as
transferring an extension call, or
accessing optional telephone services.
