One-Touch Recording (OTR)

Whenever you are in a hurry to start a timer recording with automatic stop in your absence, simply set the recording duration by pressing

¥REC/OTR repeatedly.

The duration indicated on the VCR display changes by pressing ¥ REC/OTR as follows:

Counter display (normal recording mode) >30 (min.)>60 (min.)>90 (min.)>120 (min.)>180 (min.)>240 (min.)> Counter display (normal recording mode)

Preparation

Insert a video cassette with an intact erasure prevention tab.

Operations

1Ready the video source which is to be recorded, and start recording.

2Press ¥ REC/OTR on the VCR repeatedly to select the desired recording duration.

The VCR will automatically switch off when OTR is completed. To turn the VCR on again, press POWER Í/I.

Notes:

The OTR function works during normal recording and Direct Recording.

When the tape reaches its end during OTR, the VCR will turn itself off.

To stop OTR at any time, press STOP or POWER Í/I.

Direct Recording

This function allows you to immediately start recording the same scenes of program that you are viewing on the TV.

Conditions for correct operation of the Direct Recording function:

Set DIRECT REC to ON. (See page 19.) The VCR must be connected to the TV’s

Audio/Video output sockets via Audio/Video cable as shown.

1Press DIRECT REC.

Recording the scenes of the program that you are viewing on the TV starts.

In some cases, it may not be possible to change the program position on the TV during Direct Recording.

When viewing or displaying the program from your TV:

Do not press AV, numeric buttons or the

I and J buttons during Direct Recording, otherwise the recording may not be performed correctly.

When viewing or displaying the program from your VCR:

It is possible to select and view any other TV program from your TV while the Direct Recording continues.

After pressing DIRECT REC to start recording, select on your TV the program position of the TV program that you want to view.

2Press (STOP) to stop recording.
