Recording (Basic) 5 AF/AE tracking

Open the lens cover before turning on the power. (l 10)

It is possible to set the focus and exposure to the locked target

The focus and exposure will keep following the subject automatically even if it moves. (Dynamic tracking)

AF/AE

¬Change the mode to .

1 Press the AF/AE button

When intelligent auto mode is set to (Portrait), the prioritised face frame (in orange) will change to the target frame, and the subject’s face will be tracked.

2 Align the subject with the target frame and press the AF/AE button to lock on to the target

ATarget frame

To change the target, press the AF/AE button and align the target frame with the new subject and press the AF/AE button once again.

3 Start recording.

Pressing and holding the AF/AE button releases the AF/AE tracking.

About target frame

In the event of failure to achieve target lock, the target frame will blink red and then disappear. Realign the subject with the target frame and repress the AF/AE button to regain target lock.

It may track different objects or may not lock the target depending on the recording conditions such as the following:

jWhen the object is too large or too small jWhen colour of the object is similar to

the backgroundjWhen the scene is darkAF/AE tracking will be cancelled in the following cases.

jWhen the mode is changed jWhen the power is turned off jWhen the scene mode is set

jWhen the unit is switched to Intelligent auto mode/manual modejWhen the unit is switched to face-to- face recording.
