Remote Footswitch Jack (23)

Provided for the connection of the supplied remote footswitch. When the footswitch is plugged into the remote footswitch jack, the Channel Select switch [3] must be pressed to the “in” position for remote selection to operate. Remote selection of the LEAD or RHYTHM channel (left footswitch button) or outboard devices in the effects loop (right footswitch button) is possible with the remote footswitch.

Speaker Outputs (24)

Paralleled 1/4" output jacks for connecting speaker enclosure(s) to the amplifier (minimum: 4 ohms). When using more than one enclosure, be sure to calculate the total impedance and set the Impedance Switch [25] accordingly. (See section on IMPEDANCE SWITCH).

IMPORTANT: Use only high quality, UNshielded cable for speaker connections.

Impedance Selector Switch (25)

Use to select the appropriate impedance of the speaker enclosure(s). If two enclosures of equal impedance are used, the switch should be set at one half of that value (e.g., for two 16 ohm enclosures, set switch to 8 ohms; for two 8 ohm enclosures, set switch to 4 ohms).

Speaker Connection

When connecting the amplifier to the speaker enclosure, make sure to set the impedance selector switch on the rear of the unit to the impedance that matches your enclosure. When two enclosures of equal impedance are used, set the switch to one half the impedance of one enclosure (see [25] Impedance Selector Switch). The 6505 is designed to operate into a minimum of 4 ohms.

6505TM specifications

The Peavey 6505TM is a revered amplifier head that has secured its place in the pantheon of high-performance guitar amplification. Primarily designed for heavy metal and rock guitarists, the 6505TM boasts a robust feature set and technology specifically tailored to deliver powerful, aggressive sounds that have made it a mainstay in studios and on stages worldwide.

One of the defining characteristics of the 6505TM is its two-channel design, allowing guitarists to switch between pristine clean tones and high-gain overdrive. The clean channel provides a sparkling, crystal-clear sound, perfect for chord strumming and clean leads. The lead channel, on the other hand, is where the 6505TM shines with its high-gain capabilities, offering exceptional sustain and aggression ideal for heavy riffs and solos. Both channels come equipped with independent EQ controls, giving users complete tonal control.

A key highlight of the 6505TM is its use of all-tube circuitry, featuring a combination of six 12AX7 preamp tubes and four 6L6 power tubes. This all-tube design plays a crucial role in producing warm, rich tones and adds significant dynamic range to the amplifier. The amp also includes Peavey's patented Resonance and Presence controls, allowing players to tailor the response and articulation of the amp to fit their specific playing style and musical genre.

Another notable feature is the built-in effects loop, which provides versatility for integrating external effects pedals or processors, further expanding the tonal possibilities. The amp also includes a footswitchable channel switching option, making it easy to transition between clean and high-gain sounds during live performances without interrupting the flow of the music.

The Peavey 6505TM is constructed with durable materials designed to withstand the rigors of touring and heavy gigging. The iconic aesthetic of the amplifier, with its steel chassis and rugged design, exudes reliability and professionalism.

In summary, the Peavey 6505TM is a powerful amplifier that offers high-quality tone and robust features for guitarists seeking exceptional performance. With its versatile channels, all-tube design, and integrated effects capabilities, the 6505TM remains a favorite among musicians pursuing intense soundscapes and dynamic tonal options.
