To the right of the A (average) bar is a slider that sets the pre-alarm function for all cameras.

How can the DX7100 record video before there is an alarm? Video is recorded for the amount of pre-alarm time, five seconds for example, but as long as there is no alarm, the five seconds of video is constantly overwritten with the latest five seconds. When there is an alarm, the DX7100 stops overwriting the video.
