Formatting a SD Memory Card / MultiMediaCard

Formatting will delete all the data on the SD Memory Card / MultiMediaCard.

Do not remove the SD Memory Card / MultiMediaCard while the card is being formatted. The card may be damaged and become unusable.

SD Memory Cards / MultiMedia Cards formatted on a PC or device other than the camera cannot be used.

Be sure to format the card with the camera.

Formatting will delete protected data too.

1 Select [Format] on the [B Set-up] menu. 2 Press the four-way controller (5).

The Format screen will be displayed.

3 Select [Format] with the four-way controller (2). 4 Press the OK button.

Formatting will start. The camera is ready to capture or play back images when formatting is completed.
