The selected picture format is activated. »

Summary of picture formats
Th e following picture set tings can be con gured.

[Super zoom] : (Not for HD
and PC mode.) Rem oves the
black bars on t he side of 4:3
broadcas ts. There is minim al
distortion.
[4:3] : Shows the classic 4:3
format.
[Subtitle zo om] : Displays 4:3
pictures ove r the full area of the
screen, wi th sub-titles vis ible.
Part of the t op of the picture is
clipped off.
[Movie expand 14:9] : (Not for
HD and PC mode .) Scales 4:3
format to 14:9.
[Movie expand 16: 9] : (Not for
HD and PC mode .) Scales 4:3
format to 16:9.
[ Wide screen] : Scale s 4:3
format to 16:9.
[Unscaled] : For HD and PC
mode only, and in sel ected
models only. Allo ws maximum
sharpness. Some distortion
may be present d ue to the
broadcas ter’s systems. Se t your
PC resolut ion to wide screen
mode for best r esults.
Manually adjust picture settings
1 Press MENU .
2 Press to sel ect [Setup] >
[Picture] .
The »[Picture] menu appears.
3 Press to select fro m the following
settings a nd adjust:
• [Smart picture] : Accesses p re-de ned
smart pi cture settings .
• [Backlight] : Adjusts the back light.
• [Contrast] : Adjusts the intensit y of bright
areas, kee ping dark areas unchan ged.
• [Brightness] : Adjusts the intens ity and
details of dar k areas.
• [Color] : Adjus ts color saturation .
• [Tint] : Adjusts the color bal ance in an
image.
• [Sharpness] : Adjusts sha rpness in the
image.
• [Noise reduction] : Filter s and reduces
noise in an image .
• [Color tempe rature] : I ntroduces more
orange tones ( [Warm] ) or blue tones
( [Cool ] ).
• [Dig.CrystalClear] : Adjus ts picture
quality to o ptimal contrast , color and
sharpness.
• [Dynamic contrast] : Enhances
contras t.
• [Dynamic backlight] : Adjusts
brightnes s of the TV backlight to
match lighting conditions.
• [Color enhancement] : Makes color s
more vivid an d improves the details
in bright colo rs. You can switch this
feature on or off.
• [P C mode] : Adjusts pic ture settings whe n
a PC is connecte d to the TV.
• [Picture format] : Changes the pic ture
format.
• [Horizontal shift] : Adjusts the pic ture
horizonta lly for PC-VGA or HD input.
• [Vertical shift] : Adjus ts the picture
vertica lly for PC-VGA or HD input.
