Vanilla Waffles
1 3/4 sticks (14T) (200 grams ) softened butter 1/4 cup (50 grams ) sugar
1/8 teaspoon vanilla pinch of salt
6 eggs
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup (1/4 liter ) milk
1 tablespoon rum
Cream the butter, sugar, vanilla and salt. Mix the flour and baking powder and add these together with the milk and eggs bit by bit, stirring continuously. Finally stir in the rum.
Cheese Waffles
6 tablespoons (100 grams ) butter
8 egg yolks
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups (500 grams ) flour 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 cup (50 grams ) grated Parmesan cheese 8 egg whites
Cream the butter. Mix the flour and baking powder. Add one after another: the egg yolks, salt, flour and cheese. Then fold in the stiffly- beaten egg whites.
Traditional Waffles
2 eggs
2 cups
1/2 cup vegetable oil or 1/2 cup (1 stick) margarine or butter, melted
1 tablespoon granulated or brown sugar
4 teaspoons baking powder 1/4 teaspoon salt
Beat eggs with wire whisk or hand beater in medium bowl until fluffy. Beat in remaining ingredients just until smooth.
