SECTION 4:ADVANCED PROGRAMMING & OPERATION

4.1 Guide to Advanced Functions

The following information is provided for advanced multiplexer system and customized system configurations. This information is not necessary for typical, day-to-day operations of the multiplexer (see Sections 2 and 3). Information is also provided in this section for changing factory-set default parameters (e.g. camera titles, display configuration, etc.) to suit your specific recording/display needs. These advanced functions are accessed through the Advanced Setup menu which is shown below. A complete listing of menu selections for Advanced Setup is included in Appendix D.

NOTE: Additional Advanced Setup menu selections are offered for System4 models. These include: PC PRINTER, LOG, PASSWORD, and EXPAND SYSTEM. These functions are explained in Section 5 which contains information that pertains only to System4 multiplexer models. This section also includes special programming information for the Sequencing function.

NOTE: Since Time/Date,Autoset, and VCR Setup are covered in Section 2 as part of Quick Setup, this chapter describes only the remaining advanced functions.

4.2 VCR Output (From the VCR Setup Menu)

The VCR OUTPUT relay controls external devices such as changing the recording speed when an action and/or alarm occurs. The VCR output relay will remain active while there are active alarms or action. The following functions can be programmed:

Output: The output relay can be activated on an action, alarm, action and alarm or off, enabling the installer to prioritize the recording of camera pictures.

Output relay: The output relay can be set to operate as normally closed or normally open contacts.

Alarm speed: The VCR recording speed can be set to match the alarm recording speed of the VCR for an action/alarm input, ensuring that no part of any incident is missed.

Note that the System4 Duplex units provide two VCR output relays.
