5.8.15 SSB Replacement

Follow the instructions in the flowchart in case a SSB has to be

exchanged. See figure “SSB replacement flowchart”.

Create “repair” directory on USB stick and
connect USB stick to TV-set
Goto SAM mode (062596 i+) and
save the TV settingsvia “Upload to USB”.
Set is still
operating?
-Replace SSB board by a Servic e SSB.
-Make the SSB fit mechanically to the set.
Go to SAMmode, and reload settings
via “Download from USB”.

Program “Display Option” code via062598
MENU/HOME, followed by 3 digits code (this
code can be found on a stickerinside the set).
Checkand perform alignments in SAM
according to the Service Manual.
E.g. optioncodes, colour temp erature...

Set is startingup but no display.

Final check of all menus in CSM.
Special attention for HDMI Keys.
Program “set typenumber”, “serial number”,
and “display 12NC”.
Update main software in thisstep, by using
“autorun.upg” file.
Start TV in Jettmode (DVD i+/OSD)
OpenComPair browser Q52x.
Noisy picture withbands/lines is visible and the
red LED iscontinuous “on”
(sometimes alsothe letter “F” is visible).
Press 5s. the “Volume minus” b utton on the local
cntrluntil the red LED switches “off”, and then
press 5 s.the MENU (*) button of the local cntrl.
(*in some chassis this button is named SOURCE)
The picture noise is replaced by blue mute!
Unplugthe mainscord to verify the correct
disabling of the factory-mode.
Program“Display Option” code via 062598 MENU/
HOME, followedby 3 digits code (this code can be
found on a sticker insidethe set).
Afterentering “Display Option” code, set is going
to Standby (= validation of code).
Restart the set.

Set is starting up in “Factory” mode.

Setis going into protection after

replacing the SSB

(blinkingLED, error 2).

Take care thatspeakers are connected!
In some sets, thespeakers are in the rear
cover, and when theset is switched “on”
without speakers,it is possible that the Audio
protection is triggered.
Advise:remount rear cover befor e switching
“on” (see also SCC_71772).
