Theseare the basic steps necessar y to operate
theradio. More advanced tuner operation is
explainedstarting on the next page.
Important
Ifyou are using this unit in North, Central or
SouthAmerica, reset the AM tuning step (see
Settingthe AM tuning step on page 32).
1Stereo(ST) indicator
Showsthat the frequency selected is being
broadcastin stereo.
2LOCindicator
Showswhen local seek tuning is on.
3Bandindicator
Showswhich band the radio is tuned to, AM
orFM.
4Presetnumber indicator
Showswhat preset has been selected.
5Frequencyindicator
Showsto which frequency the tuner is
tuned.
1 PressSOURCE to select the tuner.
PressSOURCE until you see Tuner displayed.
2 UseVOLUME to adjust the sound level.
Rotateto increase or decrease the volume.
3 PressBAND to select a band.
PressBAND until the desired band is dis-
played,FM1,FM2,FM3 for FM or AM.
4 Toperform manual tuning, press cor
dwithquick presses.
Thefrequencies move up or down step by
step.
5 Toperform seek tuning, press and hold
cordfor about one second and release.
Thetuner will scan the frequencies untila
broadcaststrong enough for good reception is
found.
#Youcan cancel seek tuning by pressing either
cordwith a quick press.
#Ifyou press and hold cor dyou can skip
broadcastingstations. Seek tuning starts as soon
asyou release the buttons.
Note
Whenthe frequency selected is being broadcast
instereo the stereo (ST) indicator will light.
