Setting the rear output andsubwoofer controllerThisunits rear output (rear speaker leads out-
putand RCA rear output) can be used for full-
rangespeaker (REAR SP :FULL) or subwoofer
(REARSP :S/W) connection. If you switch the
rearoutput setting to the REAR SP :S/W, you
canconnect a rear speaker lead directly to a
subwooferwithout using an auxiliar y amp.
Initially,the unit is set for rear full-range speak-
erconnection (REAR SP :FULL). When rear
outputare connected to full range speakers
(whenREAR SP :FULL is selected), you can
connectthe RCA subwoofer output to a sub-
woofer.In this case, you can select whether to
usethe subwoofer controller s (low pass filter,
phase)built-in PREOUT :S/W orthe auxiliary
PREOUT:FULL.
1 PressFUNCTION to select REAR SP.
PressFUNCTION repeatedly until REAR SP ap-
pearsin the display.
2 Pressaor bto switch the rear output
setting.
Pressingaor bwill switch between
REARSP :FULL (full-range speaker) and
REARSP :S/W (subwoofer) and that status
willbe displayed.
#Whenno subwoofer is connected to the rear
output,select REAR SP :FULL.
#Whena subwoofer is connected to the rear
output,set for subwoofer REAR SP :S/W.
#Whenthe rear output setting is
REARSP :S/W, you cannot change the subwoofer
controller.

outputor non fading output (full-range
RCAoutput).
Pressingcor dwill switch between
PREOUT:S/W and PREOUT :FULL andthat
statuswill be displayed.
Notes
!Evenif you change this setting, there is no
outputunless you turn the non fading output
(referto Using non fading output on page 28)
orsubwoofer output (refer to Using subwoofer
outputon page 28) in the audio menu on.
!Ifyou change the subwoofer controller, sub-
wooferoutput and non fading output in the
audiomenu return to the factory settings.
!Bothrear speaker leads output and RCA rear
outputare switched simultaneously in this
setting.
Switching the telephonemuting/attenuationSoundfrom this system is muted or attenu-
atedautomatically when a call is made or re-
ceivedusing a cellular telephone connected to
thisunit.
!Thesound is turned off, MUTE or ATT is
displayedand no audio adjustment is pos-
sible.
!Operationreturns to normal when the
phoneconnection is ended.
1 PressFUNCTION to select Telephone.
PressFUNCTION repeatedly until Telephone
appearsin the display.
