SKeep firm footing andbalance. Do not over-
reach or use from unstable s urfaces such as

SKeepthe cutting head below wais t level. Do
notraise handles above your w aist. Cutting
head can come dangerously close to your
body.
SUse unit properly. Use only for trimming, edg-
ing, scalping, and mow ing. Donot for ceunit .

SWhen using the trimmer attachment, keep
cutting line at proper length. Use only 0.080
(2 mm) diameter Poulan brand line. Never
use wire, rope, string, etc.

trimmer head and spool; make sure it is
properly installed and securely fastened.
SCut from your right to your left. Cutting on
leftside of the s hield will throw debris away
from the operator.
SStore the unit so the line limiter blade (on
underside of shield) cannot cause injury.

SHave all service performed by a qualified

SMaintain unit according to recommended
procedures.
SMakec ertain the chain and/or cutting head
stops moving when trigger switch is re-
leased.
SWhen using the trimmer attachment,
keep cutting line at proper length. Use
only 0.080(2 mm) diameter Poulan
brand line. Never use wire, rope, string,
etc.
SInstallrequired shield properly before using
thetrimmer attachment. Useonly specified
trimmer head and spool; make sure it is

SNever modify your unit in any way.

SKeep oil cap, screws, and fasteners se-

SKeep chain sharp and clean for better and
safer performance.
SFollow instructions for lubricating andchang-
ing accessories and for changing trimmer
line.
SCheck for damaged parts. Before further use
of the unit, a part that is damaged should be
carefully checked to determine that it will op-
erate properly and perform its intended
function.Chec k for alignment of moving parts ,
binding of moving parts, breakage of parts ,
mounting and any other conditions that may
affect its operation. Any part that is damaged

SUse only recommended attachments an d re-

SWhennot in use, t he unit should be stored in a
dry,high or locked-up place out of the reach of
children.
SWhen storing unit, unplug from the power
source and use a bar sheath when appropri-
ate.

TRANSPORTINGAND STORAGE

SStop the unit and disconnect the power
source when not in use.
SCarry the unit with motor stopped.
SStoreunit indoors in a high, dry place out of
thereach of c hildren. Store unit unplugged.
SDonot hang unit so that the trigger s witch is
depressed.
SAFETYNOTICE: E xposure to vibrations
through prolonged use of hand tools could
cause blood vessel or nerve damage in the
fingers, hands, and joints of people prone to
circulation disorders or abnormal swellings.
Prolonged use in cold weather has been
linked to blood vessel damage in otherwise
healthy people. If symptoms occur such as
numbness, pain, loss of strength, change in
skin color or texture, or loss of feeling in the
fingers, hands, or joints, discontinue the use
