Assist Handle

BLOWER SAFETY

WARNING: Nev er put hands or other
objects into blower housing to avoid serious
injury from rotating impeller.
WARNING: Inspec t area before
starting unit. Remov eall debris and hard ob-
jectssuch as rocks, glass, wire, etc. that can
ricochet,be throw n, or otherwise cause injury
or damage during operation.
SInspect unit before each use for worn,
loose, missing or damaged parts. Do not
use until unit is in proper working order.
SDonot set unit on any surface except a clean,
hardar ea. Debris such as gravel, s and, dust,
grass, etc., could be picked up by the air in-
take and thrown out through discharge open-
ing, damaging unit, property, or causing seri-
ous injury to bystanders or operator.
SNeverplace objects inside the blower tubes
or blower outlet. Always direct the blowing
debris away from people, animals, glass,
and solid objects such as trees, automo-
biles,walls , etc. The forc e of air can cause
rocks,dirt, or sticks to bethrown or to rico-
chet which can hurt people or animals,
break glass, or cause other damage.
SCheck air intake opening and blower tubes
frequently, always with unit stopped and
power source disconnected. Keep v ents
and discharge tubes free of debris which
canacc umulate and restrict proper air flow.
SNeverplace any object in air intake opening
as this could restrict proper air flow and
cause damage to the unit.
SNeverdous e or squirt the unit with water or
anyother liquid. Clean unit and labels with a
damp sponge. Keep handles dry, clean,
andf ree from oil and grease.
SNeverus e for spreading chemicals, fertiliz-
ers,or other substances w hich may contain
toxic materials.
SToavoids preading fire, do not use near leaf
or brush fires, fireplaces, barbecue pits,
ashtrays, etc.

CULTIVATOR SAFETY

DANGER: RISK OF CUT. KEEP
HANDSAND FEET AWAY FROM TINES AND
CUTTING AREA. R otating tines can cause s e-
rious injury. Do not attempt to clear away cut
material or hold material to be cut when the mo-
toris r unning.Mak e sure powerhead is stopped
and disconnected from power source wh en re-
moving jammed material from the tines. Donot
grab or hold attachment by the tines.
WARNING : Rotating tines can cause
serious injury. Keep away from rotating tines.
Stop the unit and disconnect the power source
before unclogging tines or making repairs.
WARNING : Inspect the area to be
cultivatedbefore s tarting the unit. Remove all
debris and hard and sharp objects such as
rocks, vines, branches, rope, string, etc .
SHold the unit firmly with both hands
SKeepfirm footing and balance. Do not ov er-
reach or stand on unstable surfaces.
SLook behind and use care when back ing up.
SKeep all parts of your body away from the
tines.
SNeveroperate the c ultivator without the tine
guard in place and properly secured.
SKeepthe tines and guard clear of debris. Al-
ways wear gloves when s ervicing or clean-
ingthe tines . The tines become very sharp
from use.
SAvoidheavy c ontact with solid objects that
might stop the tines. If heavy contact oc-
curs, stop the motor and inspect the unit for
damage.
SAfters triking a foreign object, stop the unit,
disconnect the power source and inspect
thecultivator for damage. Repairbefore re-
starting.
SDisconnect attachment from the drive mo-
torbefore cleaning the tines with a hose and
waterto remov e any build--up. Oil the tines
to prevent rust.
SDonot run unit at high speed unless c ultiva-
ting.
