SHold the unit firmly with both hands
SKeepfirm footing and balance. Do not ov er-
reach or stand on unstable surfaces.
SLook behind and use care when bac king up.
SKeep all parts ofy ourbody away from the
tines.
SNeveroperate t he cultivator without the tine
guard in place and properly secured.
SKeepthe tines and guard clear of debris. Al-
ways wear gloves whens ervicing or clean-
ingthe tines . The tines become very sharp
from use.
SAvoidheavy contact with solid objects that
might stop the tines. If heavy contac t oc-
curs, stop the motor and inspect the unit for
damage.
SAfters triking a foreign object, stop the unit,
disconnect the power source and inspect
thecultivator for damage. Repair beforer e-
starting.
SDisconnect attachment from the drive mo-
torbefore cleaning the tines witha hose and
waterto remov e any build--up. Oil the tines
to prevent rust.
SDo not run unit at high speed unless culti-
vating.

EDGER SAFETY

WARNING: Alway s use handlebar
when operating edger attachment. Attach
handlebarabove arrow onsafety label onthe
upper shaft (motor end of unit). If your edger
attachment does not include a handlebar, a
handlebar accessory kit (#530071864) is
availablefrom your authoriz ed service dealer.
Instructions for assembling handlebar to y our
unit are included in this kit.

away cut material when the blade is in motion.
Makesure powerhead is stopped and disc on-
nected from power source when removing

WARNING : Inspectthe ar ea to be
edged before each use. Remove objects
(rocks, broken glass, nails, wire, etc.) which
can be thrown by the blade or can wrap
around the shaft.
SBlade rotates momentarily after the trigger
is released. The blade can seriously cut
you or others.
SAllowblade to s top before removing it from
the cut.
SHold the unit firmly with both hands.
SKeepfirm footing and balance. Do not ov er-
reach or stand on unstable surfaces.
SThrow away blades that are bent, warped,
cracked, broken or damaged in any other
way. Replace parts that are cracked,
chipped,or damagedbefore using theunit.
SKeep all parts of your body away from the
blade.
SKeep blade guard in place and in good
working order.
SAlways keep the wheel in contact with the
ground.
SAlways push the unit slowly over the
ground. Stay alert for uneven sidewalks,
holes in the terrain, large roots, etc.
SToreduce the risk of fire, do not allow exces-
sive grass, leaves, or grea se to accumulate
on the attachment.
SObjects struck by the cutting member can
cause serious injuries to persons. The lawn
should always be carefully exa mined and
cleared of all objects prior to edging.
