ASSEMBLY

INSTALLINGPRUNER ATTACH-

MENT

CAUTION: Whenremov ing or installing at-
tachments, place the unit on a flat surf ace for
stability.
1. Loosen the coupler by turning t he knob
counterclockwise.

2. Remove the shaft cap from the pruner at-
tachment (if present).
3. Position locking/release button of attach-
mentint o guide recess of coupler.
4. Push the attachment into the coupler until
the locking/release button snaps into the
primary hole.
5. Beforeus ing the unit, tighten the knob s e-
curely by turning clockwise.

WARNING: Make s ure the locking/
release button is locked in the primary hole
andthe knob is s ecurely tightened before op-
eratingthe unit. Allat tachments are designed
to be used in the primary hole.

mentins truction manual.

SHOULDER STRAP ASSEMBLY

WARNING: Proper s houlder strap
adjustments must be made with the motor
completely stopped before using unit.
1. Tryon shoulderstrap and adjust for f it and
balance before starting the unit or begin-
ning ac utting operation.
2. Inserty our right arm and head throughthe
shoulder strap and allow it to rest on y our
left shoulder. Make sure the danger sign
is centered on your back and the hook is
to the right side of your waist.
NOTE:A one- half twist is built in the shoul-
der strap to allow the strap to rest flat on the
shoulder.
3. Adjust the strap, allowing t hehook to be
about 3 -- 6 inches (8 -- 15 cm) below the
waist.
4. Fasten the strap hook to the clamp lo-
cated between the trigger handle and the
assisthandle and liftthe tool to the operat-
ing position.
NOTE: It may be necessary to relocate the
shoulder strap clamp on the shaft for proper
balancing of unit.

TO RELOCATESHOULDER STRAP

CLAMP:

1. Loosen and remove both clamp screws.
2. Place the upper shoulder strap clamp
over the upper shaft.
3. Position the lower shoulder strap clamp
underthe upper s haft and align the upper
and lower clamp screw holes.

4. Insert two screws into the sc rew holes.
5. Secure shoulder strap clamp by tighten-
ing screws with a hex wrench.

ADJUSTING THE ASSIST HANDLE

WARNING : Whenadjusting the assist
handleduring prune r use, be sure it remains be-
tween the coupler and the lower arrow
(closest to coupler) on the safety labelto ensure
proper balancing of unit. When adjust ing the
assist handle during use of optional attac h-
ments (or handlebar for edger attachment), it
mustbe re positioned between the trigger switc h
and the upper arrow (closest to motor ) on
the safety label.
1. Loosen wing nut on handle.
2. Rotate the handle on the shaft to an up-
right position; retighten wing nut.
