pulls on the starter rope. Activate the primer
bulbby pres sing it and allowing it to return to
its original position.

THROTTLE TRIGGER

The THROTTLE TRIGGER controls engine
speed.S queeze the trigger for full s peed opera-

HELPFUL TIP
Toobtain the correct oil mix
ratio, pour 3.2 ounces of
2--cycle synthetic oil into
onegallon of f resh gas.
Thisengine is certified to operate on unleaded
gasoline. Before operation, gasoline mus t be
mixed with a good quality synthetic 2-cyc leair-
cooledengine oil d esigned to be mixed at a ratio
of 40:1. Poulan/WEED EATER brand synthetic
oilis recommended. A 40:1 ratio is obtained
bymix ing 3.2 ounces (95 ml) of oil with 1 gal-
lon( 4 liters) of unleaded gasoline). DO NOT
USE automotive oil or boat oil.Thes e oils will
causeengine damage. When mix ing fuel, fol-
lowinstructions printed on oil container. Once
oilis added to gas oline, shake container mo-
mentarily to assure that the fuel is t horoughly
mixed. Always read and follow the safety
rules listed under HANDLE FUEL WITH
CAUTION.

IMPORTANT

Experience indicates that alcohol blended fuels
(called gasohol or using ethanol or methanol)
can attract moisture which leads t o separation
and formation of acids during storage. Acidic
gas can damage the fuel system of an engine
while in storage. To avoid engine problems,
empty the fuel system before storage for 30
days or longer. Drain the gas tank , start the en-
gineand let it run u ntil the fuel lines and carbure-
tor are empty. Use fresh fuel next season.
Neverus e engine or carburetor cleaner prod-
ucts in the fuel tank or permanent damage
may occur.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

It is recommended that the engine not be
operatedfor longer than 30 seconds at full
throttle. Releasing the trigger and allowing
the engine to briefly return to idle speed (5 --
10 seconds) will be sufficient.
