WARNING : Stop the engine before opening the vacuum inlet door. The engine must
be stopped and the impeller blades no longer turning to avoid s erious injury from the rotating
blades. Gently tilt the handle of the screwdr iver toward the back of the unit to release the lat ch
while pulling up on the vacuum inlet cover with your other hand.
Whenus ing the vacuum attachment, the unit is designed to pick up dr y
material such as leaves, grass, small twigs, and bits of paper. Do not
vacuum stones, gravel, metal, broken glass, etc., to avoid s evere dam-
aget o the impeller.
WARNING: Fire haz ard. Never mix, pour, or store gasoline or
use the unit near a flame or sparks (including smoking, open flames, or
work that can cause sparks).

DRestrict unit to users who understand and
will follow all warnings and safety rules in
this manual.
WARNING: Inspect area before s tart-
ing unit. Remove all debris and hard objects
such as rocks, glass, wire,etc. that can rico-
chet, be thrown, or otherwise cause injur y or
damage during operation.
Use your unit as a blower for:
DSweeping debris or grass clippings from
driveways, sidewalks, patios , etc.
DBlowinggr ass clippings, straw, or leaves into
piles, around joints, or between bricks.
Use your unit as a vacuum for:
DPicking up dry material such as leaves,
grass, small twigs, and bits of paper.
DForbes t results during vacuum use, operate
your unit at high speed.
DMoveslowly bac k and forth over the mate-
rialas you v acuum. Avoid forcing the unit
intoa pile of debris as this c an clog the unit.
DKeep the vacuum tube about an inch above
the ground for best results.

PLAN AHEAD

DAlways wear eye protection when operat-
ing, servicing, or performing maintenance
onunit . Wearingey e protection will help to
preventrock s or debris from being blown or
ricocheting into eyes and face w hich can
result in blindness and/or serious injury.
Eye protection should be marked Z87.
DAlways wear foot protection. Do not go
barefoot or wear sandals.
DAlways wear respirator or face mask when
working with unit in dusty environments.
DSecure hair above shoulder length. Secure or
remove jewelry, loose clothing, or clot hing
with loosely hanging straps, ties, tas sels, etc.
They can be caught in moving parts.
DDonot operate unit w heny ou areti red, ill, up-
set, or if you are under the influence of alco -
hol, drugs, or medication.
DKeep children, bystanders, and animals
away from work area a minimum of 30 feet
(10meters) w hen starting or operating unit.
Donot point the blower noz zle in the direc-
tion of people or pets.

DEliminateall sourc es of sparks or flame (in-
cludingsmok ing, open flames, or work that
cancause spark s) in the areas where fuel is
mixed, poured, or stored.
DMix and pour fuel in an outdoor area; stor e
fuelin a cool, dry, well ventil ated place; use
an approved, marked container for all fuel
purposes.
DDo not smoke while handling fuel or while
operating the unit.
