Understanding Digital Weather Alert

The weather service precedes each weather alert with a digitally-

ENCODED3Ø-% 3PECIÞCØREA-ESSAGE%NCODING SIGNALTHEN a 1050 Hz tone. When your local weather station broadcasts a weather alert signal, the CB radio sounds an alert tone and displays a message showing the alert level.

The CB radio does not display the actual location referenced by SAME messages. It uses only the message portion of the SAME signal.

If severe weather threatens, do not wait for an alert tone; tune to the weather broadcast and monitor the weather information.

If a weather signal ends, the CB radio beeps three times (when the key tone is turned on) and only when the weather
