3)Placement of the preamplifier - The preamplifier is the “brains“ of your system and will have the greatest number of interconnects. Therefore, the preamplifier should be located such that it is accessible for cabling between itself and all other relevant pieces of equipment. NEVER place another piece of equipment on top of the preamplifier and be sure to leave adequate space (three inches or more) on the top, sides and rear for air flow. The external power supply should be placed as far away as possible from any other components or cables.

Sixty Six specifications

Rogue Audio Sixty Six is a celebrated tube amplifier that has made its mark in the audiophile community due to its remarkable combination of performance, build quality, and aesthetic appeal. Designed to cater to both novice enthusiasts and seasoned audiophiles, the Sixty Six represents a fine blend of vintage warmth and modern engineering.

One of the standout features of the Rogue Audio Sixty Six is its use of high-quality vacuum tubes in the signal path. This amplifier typically employs a configuration of 12AX7, 12AU7, and 6CA7 (EL34) tubes, which contribute to its rich and musical sound signature. The tube lineup not only enhances the overall audio experience but also infuses a sense of warmth and depth that solid-state amplifiers often struggle to replicate.

The Sixty Six boasts a powerful output of 50 watts per channel in ultralinear mode and can be switched to triode mode for those seeking a more intimate sound. In triode mode, the amplifier delivers a softer and more focused presentation, making it ideal for smaller rooms and sensitive speakers. This versatility allows users to tailor their listening experiences according to their preferences and listening environments.

Additionally, Rogue Audio has equipped the Sixty Six with a robust, all-metal chassis that not only houses its internal components securely, but also minimizes vibrations. The attention to build quality is evident in the inclusion of high-quality components such as capacitors and transformers, designed to ensure reliability and longevity.

Another notable aspect is the inclusion of a remote control, which makes it easy for users to adjust volume levels from the comfort of their listening position. The amplifier also features multiple inputs, allowing for seamless integration with various source components.

The aesthetic design of the Sixty Six is equally impressive, with its stylish, retro-inspired look that incorporates polished chrome and a distinctive front panel. The combination of performance and elegance makes it a standout piece in any audio setup.

In summary, the Rogue Audio Sixty Six tube amplifier is a masterful creation that caters to discerning listeners. Its use of high-quality tubes, versatile operating modes, exceptional build quality, and elegant design make it a valuable addition to any high-fidelity audio system. Whether used for casual listening or critical audio evaluation, the Sixty Six consistently delivers an engaging and pleasurable sonic experience.
