SYMPTOM (DVD)

Play does not commence even when title is selected.

Audio soundtrack and/or subtitle language is not the one selected at the initial settings.

No subtitles.

Alternative audio soundtrack (or subtitle) languages fail to be selected.

Angle cannot be changed

REMEDY

Check “PARENTAL” setup.

If the audio soundtrack and/or subtitle language does not exist on the disc, the language selected at the initial settings will not be seen/heard.

Subtitles appear only with discs, which contain them.

Subtitles are cleared from the TV monitor. Press SUBTITLE to display the subtitles.

An alternative language is not selected with discs, which do not contain more than one language.

This function is dependent on software availability. Even if a disc has a number of angles recorded, these angles may be recorded for specific scenes only.

No menu play

REMEDY

This function works only for video CDs with playback control (version 2.0 and above).

Selecting the type of disc for the type of TV connected

Both the DVD discs and Video CDs have the material recorded in PAL and NTSC systems. Refer to the table below to select the correct setting for the type of TV connected.

NOTE:

TV SYS. Button (30) on the remote marches through MULTI – NTSC - PAL ...

with every press. This way the setting is changed but ‘locally’ until the disc is removed. Then the DVD reverts to the original setting in the setup menu. Selecting the correct system for the type of disc can improve picture quality, especially motion.
